With over two decades of leadership at Ford Motor Company and a dedicated history in educational governance, Mike Johnson is a talent development strategist, educator, and organizational consultant. He specializes in bridging the gap between academic preparation and workforce execution. Throughout his career, Mike has combined data-driven corporate strategy with a passion for experiential learning, creating robust pipelines for Next-Gen talent (Millennials and Generation Z) across corporate, retail, and academic sectors.
As a Lead Talent Acquisition Recruiter and former regional Marketing, Sales & Service Manager for Ford’s New York Region, Mike mastered the mechanics of process improvement and workforce development. He successfully managed multimillion-dollar regional projects and spearheaded training frameworks that drove a $717MM profit objective and generated over $57 million in client sales. A champion of operational excellence, he specializes in translating complex corporate strategies into actionable, continuous improvement training modules for automotive retail environments, directly boosting employee retention and engagement.
Mike’s corporate success is anchored by his deep commitment to instructional design, youth mentorship, and community service. As Board President for Sound Business Inc., he directed a 20-year career readiness program, designing curriculum that connected high school students with executive mentors. His global perspective and expertise in cross-cultural leadership allow him to design transformative travel experiences that enrich global competencies for students, teachers, and administrators.
Whether advising automotive dealerships on workforce optimization or facilitating student development workshops, Mike leverages his mantra, "hard on the process; easy on the people", to build inclusive, high-performing cultures. He holds a proven track record in curriculum creation, workshop facilitation (such as his signature “Job Search 101” series), and pro-bono non-profit consulting through the Taproot Foundation. Mike remains dedicated to empowering the next generation of professionals and driving measurable organizational growth.
